Child and Youth Groups

“JIGSAW” – Jesus Is Good So Are We & The Way Juniors”

So, what are Jigsaw and the Way Juniors?

Born mainly to ensure no little “sheep” from the Parish flock is lost after the First Holy Communion but instead kept close to the Good Shepherd, the Jigsaw group and the Way Jr are two catholic groups created to carry on the work started during the First Holy Communion preparation and to keep providing spiritual guidance and assistance in the development of the children’s Catholic faith and knowledge.

JIGSAW & THE WAY JUNIORS is open to any child in year 4, 5, 6 & 7.

Each month a topic or project will be presented, and the children together with the group leaders will have an opportunity to talk, learn and discuss about that topic. Audio and visuals media will be involved too.

When & Where will the Jigsaw meet?

In St Peter’s Hall, every 1st Friday of the month prior but if the first Friday of month falls on a school holiday (summer, Christmas, half term) the lesson will be moved to the 2nd Friday of the month

JIGSAW & THE WAY JUNIORS meet at 6pm – 7.15pm

Times and events will be advertised regularly on the parish newsletter.

The Way” – Wickford’s Active Youth

The Way, is the senior youth group of Our Lady Good Counsel, Wickford, the group is open to any young person in Year 8 and above.

Our name is inspired by John 16:4 – “Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – It also stands for Wickford’s Active Youth.

We meet during term time on the first Friday of every month in St Peter’s Hall at 7.30pm for fun, friendship and faith.

We are closely linked with the Brentwood Catholic Youth Service with many of our young people going to the youth events organised by the BCYS taking place around the diocese.
